20th Annual Foundation Dinner Raises Over $50,000

On Saturday, November 9th, Hamilton Memorial Hospital District (HMHD) Foundation hosted its 20th Annual Foundation Dinner.  The dinner was held at the Hamilton County Senior High School with seating at 5:00 p.m. and the dinner at 6:00 p.m.  Yesterday’s Catering Service from Carmi provided the meal and their food was definitely a treat again this year.

HMHD honored 7 employees who had a cumulative total of 110 years of service, and also awarded HMHD employees with the 2019 Distinguished Healthcare Providers of the Year Award. “Every employee, in every discipline has looked at their operations through a different lens- healthcare is changing, and HMHD has to change too. Due to all employees hard work, HMHD is healthier in every sense of the statement” said CEO, Victoria Woodrow. “The dedication our employees show to our hospital is empowering and I’m grateful to get to be on a team with each of them!” continued Woodrow.

The event raised $51,498 that  will be used to help purchase three Zoll heart defibrillators for the Hamilton Memorial Hospital Emergency Department, surgical, and medical units.   “The support our area has given to the Hospital District over the years has been wonderful and has allowed the Hospital to grow to a modern facility with the latest medical equipment and technology.  As I have said many times in the past, if you or a family member needs care today, I would put our facility, staff and the care you will receive here up against any facility in Southern Illinois” said Woodrow

“But it is important to stress that none of this would have been possible without the financial support and commitment of residents of our area.”
