HMHD Taking Active Approach to Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 to Patients
(McLeansboro) –Hamilton Memorial Hospital District (HMHD) is taking an active, common sense approach to preventing the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) by following prudent infection prevention strategies in effort to protect our patients.
Effective March 6, 2020, outside visitors of the in-patient unit, including transitional care rehabilitation patients, must complete the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Visitor Screening Questionnaire. The questionnaires are available at the information desk and after-hours at the in-patient nurses station.
If a visitor answers "yes" to any questions, they should postpone their visit for at least 14 days from the day symptoms began.
This in addition to the IDPH mandate restriction of no visitor with any of the following:
- Influenza like illness- fever, cough, sore throat
- Under the age of 18
- No more than two visitors in patient room at all times
- Only immediate family or other significant persons defined by the patient can visit
If you have any questions, please contact your family member's care team or HMHD Infection Control Director, Glenna Sutton at 618.643.2361 ext. 1100 or at 618.308.0183
