Environmental Technician

80 Hours Per Pay Period

  • Education: No education necessary.
  • Training and Experience: Previous experience in hospital or hotel housekeeping preferred. Must have ability to become competent in essential functions within 2 to 3 months.
  • Job Knowledge: Must have the ability to read, write and speak effectively. Must be able to count and follow simple instructions. Sufficient strength to push carts and lift bulky items.
  • Equipment Used: Commercial washer, dryer, laundry cars, hot stamper, mop, broom, dust pan, chemical/detergent dispensers, commercial carpet vacuum and sweeper, carpet extractors, floor scrubbers/buffers.

Housekeeping is performed within the Support Services Department and shall operate as a team. When one area needs assistance, those working in other areas shall be responsible for ensuring the whole job is completed. Support Services is an important part of insuring the District’s patients and residents receive complete quality care. Position Responsibilities: 1. Cleans all laundry linen/clothing in the Hospital District. 2. Cleans all floors, walls, windows, and other surfaces in the Hospital District. 3. Operates all laundry and housekeeping equipment in a safe, orderly, and efficient manner. 4. Cleans all laundry and housekeeping equipment at the end of every shift. 5. Completes department records as required by management. 6. Attends in-services and other meetings as required by management. 7. Assist in passing meal trays as needed. 8. Perform one on one psychiatric sitter’s duties when needed.
