  • Job Summary:
  • To provide assistance to the Registration supervisor, Billing Clerk, and Director of Revenue Integrity in billing and billing follow up duties, charge posting and registration duties and other office duties as assigned by the Director of Revenue Integrity.
  • Qualifications:
  • Education: Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Training and Experience: Healthcare experience highly preferred. Working knowledge and understanding the revenue billing cycle. Experience with insurance claims and follow-up activities to resolve outstanding insurance claims. Understanding of CPT, ICD-10 and HCFA terminologies.
  • Additional Requirements: Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor is needed. Detail oriented and possess management skills in order to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends. Maybe required to work occasional overtime.

Essential Functions: The Patient Account Representative II will be focused on the resolution of processing errors and denials at patient registration, charge posting and billing functions. The representative will provide exceptional customer service to physicians, patients and family members. Position Responsibilities: • Provide courteous and accurate patient and hospital information with way finding instructions for patients, families, visitors and ancillary areas. • Perform registration and basic insurance verification, ensuring collection of critical data necessary for proper patient identification and billing. • Identify and update patient demographic information on HMH systems as defined by departmental policy and procedures. • Obtain Insurance Card copies and validate insurance information via electronic medical record, transfer information or insurance eligibility tool. • Prepare documents for imaging/scanning into electronic patient record. • Explain processes and forms to patients prior to securing signatures and ensures that all documents are properly signed and witnessed as required. • Maintains and updates daily census reports for accuracy and communicates any changes/edits within the hospital departments. • Promptly, politely and professionally answers all telephone calls using scripted language in a friendly and helpful manner. • Collects co-payments according to HMH financial policy. • Assist patients with financial payment plans according to HMH financial policy. • Focuses on the resolution of insurance processing errors and denials. • Completes all training & mandatory training assigned by the Director of Revenue Integrity or the Education Department of the hospital in a timely manner. • Stays current on all hospital policies and procedures such as Safety Policy, Emergency Preparedness Plan, support ticketing, HIPAA & Compliance and the hospital mission and vision statements. • Assists the Business Office with other office duties as assigned by the Director of Revenue Integrity.
